This has been a busy weekend for the events industry in Suffolk, among the highlights was FolkEast who returned triumphantly to Glemham Hall Estate after a year of absence.
FolkEast, which is known to be the most easterly folk festival in the UK, drew crowds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with adults and children alike enjoying the eighth year of this popular event.
Many festival-goers who camped between Thursday August 19 and Sunday August 22 described a “relaxed atmosphere” as they watched live music, danced and tried out arts and crafts.
In the Saturday crowd, the colorful Boudicca Border Morris brought to life the aptly named Morris stage.
Afro Celt Sound System headlined on Saturday night when describing on their Facebook page the “joy” they felt to “finally come back on stage for the first time in two years”.
This year’s Folk East was a slightly scaled-down event – with organizers keen to make sure it was secure against Covid.
