WICHITA FALLS (KFDX / KJTL) – On a Thanksgiving day, many families worked tirelessly to make sure everything was ready for tomorrow’s feast.
That’s why the folks at Stone Oven will be open late tonight, giving these families a chance to get out of the kitchen and not cook for a night, all in a family atmosphere.
“So far it’s been a pretty stable morning, I would say if our mornings are on a Wednesday, it’s definitely overtaking right now,” said Tanner Lucking, co-owner of Stone Oven.
While Stone Oven will serve the traditional pies, Lucking offers pizza with a big Thanksgiving twist.
“If you’re lazy, can’t cook, or just just yourself and a few friends, get this pie,” Lucking said. “That way you can have a Thanksgiving feeling before Thanksgiving or after or during.”
Lucking said he expects there to be a fairly stable crowd throughout the day as he provides an escape from the kitchen, so to speak.
But the day before Thanksgiving, he really expects the crowd to ramp up, and that’s where singer / songwriter Anthony Castillo comes in.
“Tonight we have an open mic from 7 to 9 and then from 9 to 10, I usually open the floor for an open jam for everyone who shows up,” Castillo said.
Castillo said this event is a great way to bond with your loved ones who may be in town for the holidays.
“This is the perfect opportunity for someone to go out and see live music and be a part of a local environment, that if you come from here and come back to town, you will meet people that you know, ”Castillo said. .
So if you are looking to escape the stress of preparing for a vacation, the doors of Stone Oven will be open and ready to invite you to relax before Thanksgiving.
Things will start at 7 p.m. and end around 10 p.m. tonight.
Castillo said he provides bass, electric and acoustic guitars, as well as full drums and said everyone is welcome to come out, family and everyone.
