Watchmaker and frequent NASA collaborator Anicorn celebrates the return of the US Space Agency’s iconic “Worm” logo with a limited edition watch designed by original logo creator Richard Danne.
The Space Watch is Danne’s very first watch design and is presented in two colors; with 150 pieces in Space Black and Jet Silver, with rotating planets representing the hours and minutes.
Danne, who is now 90, said of the project: âThe design of this watch is inspired by space itself – its beauty, its silence, its rotating planets. The project crowns an extraordinary involvement with the NASA family, a person like no other and very dear to my heart. ”
The Space Watch is based on a Miyota 9015 4Hz automatic with a 42-hour power reserve and is presented in a vacuum-packed double-layer metal foil box with an embroidered NASA patch, numbered and autographed plaque, booklet and both a black stainless steel bracelet and black leather strap.
Danne & Blackburn presented NASA with a unique logo in 1974, which replaced the original “Meatball” logo and represented everything the agency did until the early 1990s. But now the fluid typeface of the ver is back, sporting the side of Demo-2, Space X’s first manned Falcon 9 test flight in May.
The Space Watch is available to order now through Anicorn, priced at $ 1,030 USD with delivery slated for late October.
Elsewhere in watches, Reservoir offers a diving session with a famous underwater photographer with the new limited edition Hydrosphere in bronze.
