OSCE Group Co-Chairs in Minsk urge parties to create atmosphere of mutual trust conducive to lasting peace: statement – aysor.am

The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs (Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Stéphane Visconti of France and Andrew Schofer of the United States of America) today issued the following statement:

The Co-Chairs welcome the release by Azerbaijan of Armenian detainees Robert Vardanyan, Samvel Shukhyan and Seryan Tamrazyan and call on both sides to complete the process of exchange of all prisoners, detainees and remains, fully and expeditiously, and to respect their obligations to ensure the humane treatment of detainees.

Recalling their statement of April 13, the Co-Chairs urge the parties to exchange all data necessary for effective demining of conflict regions and to lift restrictions on access to Nagorno-Karabakh, including for representatives of international humanitarian organizations. The Co-Chairs encourage the parties to take concrete steps to create an atmosphere of mutual trust conducive to lasting peace by addressing the remaining areas of concern highlighted in the Co-Chairs’ April 13 statement. This includes the resumption of the high-level political dialogue under the auspices of the Co-Chairs as soon as possible. “
