NASA Selects SSAI for Hydrosphere, Biosphere and Geophysics Support Services Contract

NASA selected Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) for the Hydrosphere, Biosphere and Geophysics (HBG) Support Services Contract at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).

The HBG contract consists of acquiring scientific research services to design, develop and apply technologies and space observations, deployed in the field and in the laboratory in order to solve problems of importance to society, in particular water resources, terrestrial and ocean ecosystems, health, global and regional sea level change, natural hazards, changes in the terrestrial cryosphere, gravity field, magnetic field, solid earth, topography, frameworks of reference and the effects of climate change on life on Earth.

The transition period will begin on or around February 15, 2020 with a contract start date of April 1, 2020 under an IDIQ cost-plus (CPFF) contract with a maximum cap of $ 425 million.

SSAI will provide a full range of scientific and research support across the various laboratories that make up the HBG subdivision of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, including the cryospheric Sciences, Oceanic ecology, Hydrological sciences, Biosphere Laboratories of Sciences, Geodesy and Geophysics and Terrestrial Information Systems.

SSAI is a leading provider of earth and space science research and development, instrument engineering, and information analysis services for federal agencies such as NASA and NOAA .
