Mel Tucker got what he expected from Michigan State fans on Saturday night.

The Spartans coach has spent most of the week begging fans to show up in droves and fuel up for a big game against Nebraska. The fans delivered, and so did the Spartans.

Michigan State picked up a 23-20 overtime victory on Saturday night, and Tucker was sure to thank the fans who showed up at “The Woodshed”.

Here are some comments from Tucker after the game:

Michigan State is now 4-0 and having its best start since 2015. The Spartans have a great chance of becoming eligible at bowling in the next two weeks as they host Western Kentucky in Week 5 and then face Rutgers. on the road during week 6..

Michigan State hasn’t won more than 7 games in a season since 2017, when Mark Dantonio led the Spartans to a 10-3 record.

Kick-off with the Hilltoppers next week is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
