Calafia Airlines will operate flights between Tijuana and Puerto Penasco

Sonora Governor Alfonso Durazno, along with Calafia Airlines executives and tourism officials, announced that the airline will connect Tijuana (TIJ) to Puerto Peñasco (PPE), starting April 19.

Calafia Airlines will operate two weekly flights (Monday and Friday) to Tijuana with Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft, with a capacity of 50 passengers. In addition, from Tijuana it will be possible to connect to Loreto (LTO) and La Paz (LAP) in Baja California Sur.

The renovated Sea of ​​Cortes International Airport, which serves Puerto Peñasco, will have commercial flights again with this announcement. TAR Aerolineas operated between July and November 2016 in Hermosillo (HMO), Tijuana (TIJ) and Ciudad Juarez (CJS).

This new route will once again bring tourists closer to Tijuana and especially to California, USA, which chooses the Mexican beaches of Sonora and Baja California Sur every year. Officials mentioned that the US state is the sixth largest economy in the world, a market with high purchase value, where they will seek to attract tourists with the attractions of its coasts.
